He’s my dad, he shouldn’t be afraid of me
That really hurts
okay, Norman’s entire situation made me so angry
Like holy cow
the entire town is an assface
Okay, this is something I noticed about ParaNorman and actually kinda liked that the film makers did.
His parents are afraid of him and don’t know how to act with him. They don’t know how to punish him, how to talk to him, or how to treat him. In reality, A LOT of parents are like this with their kids (not because they can see ghosts per say, but because of things like mental issues or their sexuality). They showed this from Norman’s perspective very well. And in the end his parents learn to accept him for who he is even after all their fighting.
I think a lot of parents should watch this film with their kids. It’s got a lot of themes that everyone can take something away from.
Okay end of the word vomit.
